Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) injectable — purified DNA fragments derived from salmon, chosen because their molecular structure closely resembles human DNA and is well tolerated.
Rather than filling or hydrating, polynucleotides act on the skin's repair machinery: they support fibroblast activity, moderate inflammation and improve barrier function. The practical consequence is that Rejuran suits skin that is damaged rather than skin that is merely ageing — acne scarring, chronic sensitivity, redness, and skin that has been over-treated with aggressive lasers or actives.
A note on terminology. Rejuran is frequently marketed as "PDRN". Rejuran's active is PN — polynucleotide. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a shorter fragment used in different products. Clinics that use the terms interchangeably are usually repeating marketing copy rather than describing what they are injecting.

It does not add volume and does not change facial shape.
How many Rejuran sessions do I need?

Does Rejuran hurt, and are there visible bumps afterwards?

Rejuran or Profhilo — which should I have?
They do different things (full comparison here). Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid bio-remodeller for hydration and firmness in reasonably healthy skin. Rejuran is a polynucleotide repair treatment for damaged, sensitive or scarred skin. Many patients benefit from both, sequenced rather than combined in one session. Assessment determines which your skin needs first.
Is Rejuran safe?
It has a well-established safety profile when genuine product is correctly injected. The polynucleotides are purified from salmon DNA, so a fish allergy is a genuine contraindication and must be declared. It is not suitable in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is active infection at the injection site.

Can Rejuran treat acne scars?
It supports dermal repair in atrophic acne scarring and is generally used alongside laser resurfacing rather than instead of it. Active acne should be controlled before scar treatment begins — treating scars while the skin is still breaking out produces new scars alongside improved old ones.
Rejuran suits damaged skin specifically. A consultation establishes whether that describes yours, and whether it should come before or after other treatment.
