How XERF Came to Bali: A Dated Record of the Technology’s Arrival at Elea Clinic
Kept as a record rather than a press release: dates, names, links to the coverage, and an honest account of what the evidence does and does not yet show.
Short answer. XERF reached Indonesia in February 2026 and Bali in June 2026. Elea Clinic introduced it at a launch in Denpasar on 29 June 2026 and was reported by several outlets as the first clinic in Bali to offer the technology. This page is a dated record of how that happened, what followed, and what is still unknown about the device — kept updated rather than replaced.
Before Bali: XERF in Indonesia
XERF by Cynosure Lutronic entered Indonesia in February 2026 through idsMED Aesthetics Indonesia, with Maharva Clinic reported as the first adopter (Republika, 16 February 2026). Elea Clinic’s position is a Bali one, not a national one, and we state it that way.
Why Elea evaluated a new radiofrequency device
Speaking to ANTARA, 30 June 2026 at the launch, dr. Jesslyn described the demand she was already seeing: “Saya ada pengalaman pada Mei lalu ada pasien orang luar datang melakukan skin booster dan kaget waktu saya bilang di Bali akan ada teknologi XERF” — a patient from overseas, surprised to hear the technology was coming to Bali. Her stated criteria for an anti-ageing treatment suited to Bali were reported in the same piece: no needles, and no long recovery.
ANTARA reported that dr. Jesslyn had reviewed the literature on the technology and worked with it for about a year before bringing it to the clinic (ANTARA Bali, 30 June 2026).
What the technology is, in regulatory terms
Dual-frequency monopolar radiofrequency, 6.78 and 2 MHz. US FDA 510(k) clearance K251327, granted 11 August 2025, substantially equivalent to the Thermage FLX; the cleared indication is electrocoagulation and hemostasis, and no clinical trials were submitted (FDA 510(k) summary K251327). In Indonesia, imported medical devices require a Ministry of Health distribution permit (izin edar AKL), searchable on the Kemenkes e-Info Alkes database.
Preparation before the first patient
Certification as a XERF practitioner at XERF Workshop 2026, managed and supported by idsMED and Cynosure Lutronic, followed later by the Cynosure Lutronic Academy programme in Korea on 12 August 2026. The sequence is set out in the training path.
The launch: Denpasar, 29 June 2026
The launch was held in Denpasar on 29 June 2026 (RMOL, 29 June 2026). Marisa Theresia, Head of Aesthetics at idsMED Indonesia, was quoted: “Kami bangga dapat berkolaborasi dengan Elea Clinic Bali untuk menghadirkan standar baru dalam perawatan non-invasif”. NusaBali, 29 June 2026 reported that a single XERF unit represents an investment of close to Rp 2 billion.

What we still do not know
No randomised controlled trial of XERF has been published, and no study has followed patients beyond three months. The evidence consists of two manufacturer-affiliated animal and modelling studies (Hong 2024, Ko 2025), one 39-person uncontrolled multicentre study (Cureus 2026) and one 16-person retrospective study (Erlich 2026). Anyone who tells you the durability of XERF results is established is going beyond the record.
A note on “first in Bali”
Several outlets described Elea as the first clinic in Bali to introduce XERF, and we link to them above. It is a dated historical statement about June 2026, not a claim about the present market, and not a claim about Indonesia, where the technology arrived earlier. Other clinics in Bali may offer it now; that is how technology spreads.
